By volunteering, who will I be supporting?
We are an international humanitarian organisation providing immediate assistance and long-term relief to people suffering from the consequences of man-made and natural disasters focusing on nutrition, food security, water & sanitation, and basic health. We need volunteers at our Head Office, bi-monthly collections and as part of our regional groups.
Our principal activities include the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of malnutrition – especially amongst women and children – food security, water and sanitation projects and research into malnutrition. See
www.aahuk.org
What sort of a commitment must I make?
We would expect a minimum commitment of 2 collection dates and hopefully more if possible.
Are there other opportunities at Action Against Hunger?
Yes. We recruit full-time and part-time volunteers on a regular basis for many different roles within the Community Groups team. By demonstrating your commitment to the charity through the collections, any application you make to other positions will be treated in a favourable light
Will I be out of pocket, if I volunteer my time?
Absolutely not. Your travel costs will be reimbursed and if collecting between 12- 2pm, you’ll get a lunch allowance of £3. At other times, we will provide you with a snack and a drink.
